TITAN
本次TITAN活动分为两个部分:TITAN Conference(研讨会)与TITAN Live(演出)。TITAN Conference由独立学术组织沙丘研究所在新时线媒体中⼼(CAC)带来⼀场关于互联⽹与公共空间的讲座。⽽演出的部分则由Metasonar、Prajnasonic与Sonic Ground三个独立⼚牌共同带来震撼的live set,上海场次的演出将于ALL Club线下呈现。两个活动在线上线下同时展开,在游戏般的虚拟的环境中以营造沉浸式的超感官体验。
The TITAN event is divided into two parts: TITAN Conference and TITAN Live. TITAN Conference is a seminar about public space and the internet, given by the independent academic organisation Dunes Workshop, and hosted in Chronus Art Center. The live set was brought together by Metasonar, Prajnasonic and Sonic Ground, three electronic music labels. The performance of Shanghai part is presented offline in ALL Club. Those activities will be launched simultaneously online and offline to create an immersive extrasensory experience in a game-like virtual environment.
TITAN_Conference
屏幕,渗透在当下日常生活的方方面面。屏幕传播的内容塑造着我们对外部世界的理解,同时我们也通过屏幕展示社会身份与价值认同。虚拟身份在我们使用社交网络、线上消费等过程中被构建,并逐渐成为虚拟空间中的“真实”,而越来越普遍的网络实名化也在巩固这种真实性,虚拟空间与现实中的真实逐渐互融并成为一种新的现实境况。
然而区别于现存的线上娱乐体验,西方哲学理论中与公共伦理存在对应关系的审美体验的真实性却难以被扁平化的屏幕所承载、传播。在全球后疫情时代,文化机构、美术馆、音乐节都作出了线上化的尝试。然而虚拟空间中的艺术呈现能否或是否有必要再现模拟世界中的真实性?虚拟作品、表演在何种层面上可以获得自身的真实性?这些基于共同审美的临时的网络平台在公共话语的促进与形成方面有哪些可能性与局限?
该讲座将从中文互联网公共讨论质量的质疑出发,分享对于“公共性”及其必要性的理解;同时展示和比较当今的社交媒体作为一种虚拟的场所,它们分别达成了何种程度的“公共性”?在这个基础上,几位嘉宾与主持人还将试图进一步分析这些社交媒体怎样模仿或复原了人类历史上古老的空间模型,并希望在以此回应最初的质疑。
Screens have permeated all aspects of our daily lives. The images and texts that circulate through these screens shape our understanding of the outside world, and at the same time, they allow us to display our identity and social status. Virtual identities are constructed through our online activities like shopping and engaging with social media and gradually become the “reality” of virtual space. Meanwhile, the increasingly common systems of real-name verification further consolidate this authenticity, which is gradually merging with the real world to form a new kind of reality.
Unlike existing online entertainment experiences, the authenticity of reciprocal aesthetic experience central to the public ethics of Western philosophy is difficult to convey through a flat screen. In the global post-pandemic era, many art galleries, fairs, and festivals have made attempts to move online. Is it possible (or even necessary) for artistic presentations in virtual space to reproduce the authenticity of the offline world? In what ways and at what levels can virtual artworks and performances create their own authenticity? What are the possibilities and limitations of these transitory online platforms, in regards to initiating and promoting public discourse?
Beginning from doubts about the quality of public discourse on the Chinese Internet, this talk will consider the understanding of the “public” and its importance. The guest speakers will also discuss and compare contemporary social media platforms as virtual public spaces, to further analyze how these virtual spaces imitate and recreate their long-established physical counterparts, in hopes of responding to those initial doubts.

Mobius
Mobius是一个声音&视觉项目,由视觉设计师苗晶和音乐制作人刘一纬于2020年共同发起。Mobius的演出以二人电子乐队组合形式呈现。Mobius得益于当代电子音乐的理念,但不设定任何音乐风格的边界,只以最自然的方式推演节奏与音律的平衡与失谐,以观其复。
Mobius is an audio&visual project in progress, launched by visual designer Miao Jing and music producer Liu Yiwei in 2020. Mobius’ performance will be presented in the form of a duo electronic band. Mobius benefits from the concept of contemporary electronic music, but does not set any musical genre boundaries. It only uses the most natural way to reproduce the balance and detune of dynamic and frequency.

生于中国重庆,后旅居北京、纽约工作生活,现常驻上海。苗晶是国内年轻一代的视觉艺术家和动画导演,自幼学习绘画,2005年开始由架上绘画到声音影像演出的VJ实践,并在2011年组建艺术工作室HibananaStudio。创作基于声音、空间、视觉、沉浸体验的跨媒介作品,他的作品探寻游走于真实与虚拟生活间隙中的迷思,关注远古与未来虚焦下的神秘场域与器物,并以”人造风景“的概念重新审视当下。苗晶及其团队的艺术作品长期活跃于中美两地,并参与到世界各地的展览及艺术节。
Born in Chongqing, work and live in Beijing / NewYork, currently based in Shanghai. Miao Jing is a visual artist and animator. He began live audiovisual performance and VJ practices since 2005 from originally as a painting artist. In 2011, he cofounded Hibanana Studio with LiuChang, in collaboration with various musicians, designers, and interdisciplinary creatives. Miao Jing fascinated with archeology, creation myths, and explores it with oriental aesthetics and ancient Chinese philosophy. His work focus on creating an immersive environment where primitives and futurism come cross. The concept of “Manufactured Landscape” manifests his statement in almost all his work. Miao Jing’s projects, such as INFINITE, Transition, ZPTPJ, have presented and exhibited in numerous art festivals, exhibitions all over the world.
[Mobius] 刘一纬
⾳乐制作⼈,来⾃北京,⽬前常驻上海。2012年在北京以交互声音视觉装置作品进⼊电⼦⾳乐与多媒体艺术领域。2014年年开始以Far Infinity项⽬名称发行概念化的Techno电⼦⾳乐唱⽚和演出。2016年参与北京独立电⼦⾳乐⼚牌Prajnasonic的创办。同期也开始在现代舞剧场等更⼴泛的⾳乐领域寻找不同的声⾳美学,并于2019年发表第⼀张以磁带⾳乐作为基础的实验⾳乐唱⽚《Erasing》。在长期的艺术⽣涯和不同的⾳乐项⽬中,⼀直在探索形式和理念的边界与可能,从原生的Underground Techno,到更具意境表达的环境⾳乐,田野录⾳。在时间与空间的抽象语⾔⾥感知存在,并通过声⾳打开超觉的经验之门。

Punx
Punx, 专注于纯硬件创作的电子音乐人,以模块合成系统live set为主要演出形式。2016年参与创建电子乐厂牌Prajnasonic,并与同年发布EP《Post Human Sports》。次年推出的另一张EP《Transcend》进一步确立了其构建于techno基底之上的工业化风格。而在刚刚过去的2019年,他不仅发行了自己的新EP《Solid》还参与了环形山的首张合集,更是将自己的硬件之声带上了Tresor Berlin和Red Light Radio这样的国际舞台。
Punx, an electronic musician focusing on pure hardware-based music creation, takes the live set as the main performance mode of modular synthesis. In 2016, he co-founded the electronic music label Prajnasonic and released the EP Post Human Sports in the same year. His EP Transcend followed up in 2017 and established an industrial style built on techno substrates. In 2019, he released the EP Solid and contributed to the first Crater Mountain release. Punx brought his hardware-based sound to the international stage in venues such as Tresor Berlin and Red Light Radio.
Far Infinity
Far Infinity 电⼦音乐制作人,Prajnasonic厂牌联合创办人。Far Infinity2020年的最新专辑《Data Matrix》在Techno当中融合了更加多元的Drum&Bass、IDM等⾳乐元素的影响,声⾳以⼀种偶遇的⽅式在后期的混音中相互凝结。在充满想象力的空间感里,在看似碎⽚化的声⾳结构中找到新的线索。Dark Ambient式的暗⾊调带来紧迫感,危机以及不确定的未来派⾊彩。富于表现⼒的、饱和的节奏为暗⾊系⾊调形成对⽐的驱动力。⽽整体声⾳的⾛向仍然把握在内敛的、反思的旅程中。
Far Infinity is a conceptual techno music project started by music producer Liu Yiwei in 2013 after living in Berlin. The artist began this project and later released 4 digital albums in the genre of dark ambient and techno. As a musician, Far Infinity is active in the most important underground scenes in China. As a cultural activist and promoter, he launched the music label Prajnasonic with friends in Beijing in 2016. The label is committed to promoting the subculture movements of progressive electronic music and supporting local music artists' developments, which defines underground techno live music in China.

fløw7nåke是位于柏林的Techno制作人和现场表演者。他的现场演出基于所有硬件设置,并且主要是模拟合成器。随着风格的不断发展,他的目标是为地下狂欢现场的黑暗和热气腾腾的舞池提供凶猛的techno重锤。 他的音乐以工业打击乐为基础,配合模拟质感的温暖声音,与忧郁而抽象的合成器旋律平衡。
fløw7nåke is a Berlin-based Techno producer and live performer. His live sets are based on all hardware setups and mostly analog synthesizers. With an ever-evolving style, he aims to provide hard-hitting techno grooves for the dark and steamy dance floors of the underground rave scene. His sound is characterized by warm, analog-infused beats balanced with melancholic and abstract synthesizer melodies, backed up by industrial percussion.
Heins
Heins专注于即兴电子乐的创作。从90年代父亲的计算机、卡式录音带开始接触音乐。目前专注于算法作曲,模块合成器以及设备搭建。
Improvised electronic music. In the late 90s everything started with father’s computer, recording loops on cassette tape through crappy desktop speakers. Nowadays noodling around with algorithmic compositions, modular synthesis and building own gear. Everything needs to fit into the backpack.
Huellkurve
Huellkurve是以脱离计算机演出为概念的techno组合。他们只用硬件合成器、音序器、以及效果器,以便更直接并实时地调整所有声音参数去与舞池互动。在liveset的框架上他们持续探索新的声音。他们的风格游走于techno、electro并融入trance和house的元素和酸性的声音。
Huellkurve is a techno formation whose concept is to play live without the use of computers. They exclusively use hardware synthesizers, sequencers, and effect devices, which allows them to access all sound parameters directly at any time as well as to interact with the audience in a special way. They are constantly on an acoustic voyage, producing new sounds and tracks they then use as a framework for their live sets – arranging them differently and interpreting them live. Stylistically they move somewhere between techno and electro, mixed with trance and house elements, flavored with a pinch of acid.

NUMPAD由Julian S.与Sebastian W.于柏林共同成立的即兴演出计划。从一开始的hybrid set到18年之后完全投入到即兴live演出中,他们以开放的音乐理念更好地去把握听众的情绪。在闷热的酸性低音和剧烈的打击乐动作之间,听众将被带入一个由气势磅礴的合成音、广阔的声音环境和复杂的节奏所编织而成的生动的声音体验。
NUMPAD is a Berlin-based electronic live improvisation project founded by Julian S. and Sebastian W. back in 2014. From initially mixing DJ sets with live arrangements of their own productions, they started to evolve into a completely improvised live act in the beginning of 2018. Due to this approach, their music can hardly be narrowed down to just one genre, but instead, it opens up the possibility to adapt to the current prevailing mood and thus to interact with the crowd profoundly. Between squelching acid basslines and trenchant percussion movements, the listener is always invited to a vivid sound experience shaped by atmospheric synth lines, wide soundscapes, and complex rhythmic structures.
Oblique
Oblique是来自柏林的制作人和DJ。受到广泛的文化背景的影响,他的每个发行都传达了对电子音乐的不同看法。作为Sonic Ground的驻场DJ,他探索了house和techno的突破与折衷的一面,并着重于沉浸式声音体验。
Oblique is a Berlin-based producer and DJ framing genre-bending and pulsating soundscapes together with a non-conformist attitude. Drawing influences from his wide cultural background, each of his releases communicates a different take on electronic music. As the resident DJ of Sonic Ground, the artist explores the broken and eclectic side of house and techno with the emphasis on an immersive sonic experience.

Vasily Betin

Entropy artist, New Media director of “Sokaris studio”, a lecturer at “Technoetics Arts” department of DeTao master academy.
